What an eventful day!! Not one of the best experiences for myself but one I will defiantly remember.

All started well with a big turn out and 2 new members, 7 cars in all.

Off to the first lane down past the Sweeney Hall a good few muddy tracks and puddles to start.

Then down to Pant and onto another road with signs (made by residents) warning traffic to ignore their satellite navigation systems as no through road, this is a good sign if you have a 4x4. Again much the same lots of mud and standing water always welcome.

Along the B4396 once I had got to grips with my new sat nav, I must be getting old as it confused me. At Cefn Ucha the next of our lanes. On to Winllan Hill for the next. Half way down the lane disappeared and we had to use a farm track down to the road. Must go back and investigate further.

Through another lane, stoney and rocky lane with a steep exit a good clear lane. Then the lane to avoid!!

All started so well, nice pleasant drive had to stop to clear a little debris, only branches. Then down a woodland track to half a tree and root ball half across the track. With a strap and some Disco force. Then we spent a while sawing a tree trunk then trimmed the root ball back and off we went, a little tight but everyone got through fine. Out of the forest and onto a more open part, some more branches on the lane and as I stop the back wheels slip to the side then the front and before I know whats what the car is sliding off the lane down a bank towards the fence and field. Getting ready for a roll over the car stops on two tree stumps, what a relief. Everyone gets out and time to assess how to remove me.

There was enough room to get another car past so as Gareth was behind me he would go first. As soon as he was alongside he just slipped straight towards my car and could not move. Jason winched Gareth backwards and out but needed to pull me out frontwards. He tried to drive past me and the same happened to him, leaning on my Disco. Jason winched himself clear then went to higher track and managed to winch me 80% out, then his winch stopped working. Eventually I was out thanks to Jason towing me the rest of the way. Me and Jason finished the lane whilst everyone else turned around and met us at Llangedwyn.

After some butty’s and a cup of tea (yes Roger everyone had food) we made our way to the next lane at Glantanat Isaf. This went up and around some woods, a little water stream and varied terrain.

A Bryn Teg the farmer had bolted the gate shut so no joy there.

We took the track through the forest down to Lake Vyrnwy for stop. By now it was 4 o’clock and a decision was made to finish the rest of the route next month.

So please come along it is a great day out even with the odd obstacle. A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped, an excellent team effort, well done all.
