Halton Trial 2008
Welcome to the first trial of the year.

With a turn out of nine vehicles, with two vehicles being driven by two or more people we had an excellent group of fourteen drivers.

After our fill of tea and bacon butties we were ready to start.

The first section started with not many people getting past gate seven.

We then moved onto bthe ccv section and Sharon put them all to shame by staring the day off with the first clear.

The second section was a wet hole and lotsof mud to count into the factor with trying to navigate the twisty course, up and over the hill.

The competion began between Roger and Dave A as they both tryed to find the best way to get through the tight three to four gates.

Section three made the most of all the deep mud and slopes in the middle of the land, with everyone doing well to get to gate five.

The ccv's then had a tight gate four with a sharp left turn catching most out.

With a short lunch break we went back out into the cold to do section four, we walked the course only to get confused by the number of gates.

After sorting out the direction we were heading in we got started with the RTV's, with Dan getting stuck due to his road tyres, we soon sorted him out with some strong men to push him out.

We soon moved on to the intermediat section with Bill doing his sunday drive!

We eventually got through the intermediate group and onto the CCV'S with Chris going through the tight four gate and down into the deep mud.

Roger then showed them how to do it before taking out the two gate!

Section five was the wetest section of the day with a nice gradual start, by easing themselves into the water and back over the hill.it then became harder with a difficult left turn back up the hill whilst in the deep water causing a few higher scores.

The CCV's made the tight turn look easy apart from Sharon who managed to miss gate five altogether and head up a totally different track and almost turning the car over with a spectacular save by somehow taking her hands off the wheel!
Leaving us with our jaws dropped to the ground!

The last section was a long twisty but farely easy section leaving everyone with good scores. with an early finish we packed up and went home.

What a good start to the year!!!!
