The sun was shining and we looked set for a good day. We gathered at the top of the hill where we had eight vehicles with Lee and Tims motor being triple driven. We all jumped in our motors and headed down the steep hill to the trial site.
We started off with a farely easy section with everyone in the RTV section (just Clive!!) and all of the intermediates clearing, we then moved onto the CCV part which proved to be a bit more difficult, using the trees and steep slopes. With most taking the easy way out of the section, the last driver decided to do it the
hard way! By going for a jolly ride into the trees and realising he then could'nt get back out again!! ( think you might need your sat nav next time dave!) Section Two proved to be a bit more tricky than the first, with the first gate going straight up a bank and over some ruff stones. Clive got the best score by hiting the fifteen gate before even starting up the hill! With most people getting up the hill they were all set on getting a clear round but nobody thought the small tree stump would catch them out! Next onto the CCV group they didn't fare any better, with colin asking to move the blue five gate around the other side of the tree so he could
bounce around it. It did him well but it was the others who bore the damage! First Roger attempted to bounce around the tree catching his passenger window on a small branch sending glass everywhere! Next on the trees target list was Tim, shortly followed by Lee all getting stuck on the same tree.We all went back for a quick lunch back at the top where we met in the morning.
After lunch we went to the top end of the site. We started off with a nice easy start on this section up onto the top of the hill for the inntermediates with the CCVs going up and over with a
tight left turn into the trees. The section started with a nice gentle slope down the onto a second steep slope providing some good photos (and people posing for pics of there best side)
The seventh section started on the main track up and over the hillthen down and around the tight corner at the bottom, with lots of loose stones. Colin had the right idea by going around the tree slightly off corse but still didint make it up the bank. Roger shortly followed in his tracks but missed the four gate! Dave thought he had the right idea by going tight to the five gate but
instaed ran over it!
For the last section of the day Jason reversed the last section and gave the CCVs a tuff three, two , one back over the track and up the bank on the other side.
What a lovely day and an early finish.
Thank you to everyone who set up and helped marshall.
